do the following:
get the zip version download @ www.cs2d.com/download (not the setup!)
extact it to a new empty folder
now copy CounterStrike2D.exe from this folder to your CS2D folder and overwrite the existing file
afterwards copy the whole gfx folder from that folder to your CS2D folder. windows will ask you if you want to replace existing files: click no (for all).
recommended: also copy and overwrite the .bat files and Launcher.exe
now you should be able to run it with the new version. I didn't test it. please post in case of problems.

it should be enough to replace the exe file and to add all new required graphics.

No! If he clicks yes, the files of his skin pack will be replaced by the original files. If he clicks no when copying the image/sound files of the new version, then the skin pack images/sounds will still be there (which is what he wanted!)

WTF? This is clearly that just need to extract NEW zip to old cs2d, but NOT overwrite gfx and sfx, because hard to find them again.
got it? therefore you click no when it asks you to overwrite existing files. might seem weird but my description is correct
