This is an Ion Cannon which is mounted on a sattelite in the low orbit (you don't see the satellite in the game). You simply click on a place on the map and 10 very fast and destructive ion balls get fired stright down to the ground. They explode on impact.

The Low Orbit Ion Cannon is good to destroy lots of terrain or to push players away.

See screenshot #3 to see the result of a successful attack.

Review: It's somehow a mixture of a weapon to modify terrain (10 shots punching holes) one to make damage (up to 25 each). I'd suggest to either make it only 5 shots or less or decrease the damage. Yep, it's science fiction, so physically it *could* be possible not to harm anyone. Just destroy the terrain and push away every player too near to the detonations. But that way it's a clear kill and an easy one too, since you can choose the spot to hit...

Conclusion: Improvable

@goshen I only play LEGO Star Wars for DS, and I'm yuite sure low orbit satillite cannons do not appear in the films.
