Update: Missing GFX file now added to zip file

Good day, all. New to the forums but have been playing Stranded 2 for more than a year now. So I think it is time I contribute something to this awesome game.

Before you get excited (or mildly interested) I'm not that talented that I'm adding any new graphics or models. Instead I'm just contributing a bunch of text. And text that builds on top of the Extended mod. (Strictly speaking it does not need to be for the Extended mod, I had just found it convenient. But I could try and tie it in to any other mod)

Also, be forewarned this is a first pass at uploading it.

This add-in is for a magic system, that is centered around the new skill 'Arcana'. The skill can only be improved if you already have the skill. And gaining the initial skill point to start it all off can only be done by solving the short quest of the 'strange book'.

This was done so that it is not automatically added to all maps if the add-in is installed, but the map author can decide to add the book or not.

How the system works:
Shortcut key Options -> Controls (2), Freie Taste 8 = 'H' is assumed as per the included readme for installing it.
Whenever H is pressed, the arcana spellcasting menu appears.

All spells require mana to cast. Spells start of weak, and become better as the skill improves.

Mana is not abundant, but 'free' for the most part. Sleeping grants free mana, but not much, while 'eating' (use key was out of the question as they are also weapons, so that causes shortcut key assignment problems) a wand or staff increases the player's fatigue, hunger and dehydration, and grants mana.

Spells fall into four categories, namely: Destruction, Enchantment, Summoning and Creation.

Spells may also require material components (i.e. you must have certain stuff in your inventory that is used up when casting the spell), though as your arcana skill improves the need for these slowly gets eliminated.

The spell menu will reflect this, and if a spell no longer lists requiring a component, then you have become skilled enough to cast it without it.

I apologize if someone else has done something similar before, but I had not seen anything to this effect when I checked to forums now. I also apologize if anything in this add-in constitutes 'stealing' as that was not my intent, and given the lack of English threads concerning the Extended mod, as well as my lack of understanding the German forum, I failed to figure out whom exactly to contact regarding the giant flashing guideline when uploading a new file.

Note: I'm not actually German, despite my German sounding but-is-actually-a-mangling-of-the-language alias.

Hi, i haven't tryed your mod yet, but it looks a great job. I would like to add magic to stranded too, so i would be glad to help.

Your idea of magic like skill is interesting, but i think u have to do too much work to add a single spell... I've tryed to make it as items.
