So a friend of mine decided that I should skin the Ak47 - And I agreed. I took one look at the default skin in CS2D and saw brown coloured pixels, not wood coloured ones (if you know what I mean).
So I set about to spriting the Ak47, and then created 3 other sets for it's separate most common variants:
-Standard AK-47 model
-Standard AK-47 model with side folding stock
-AKS-47 with under folding stock
-Stockless (Similar to the AK74u, but isn't)

You may distribute and use this as needed, free of charge, providing you do not:

TO INSTALL THE MOD:
Simply open the *.zip file, and then select any of the folders that reside within (either "Standard AK-47", "Standard AK-47 with side folding stock", "Stockless" or "AKS-47 with under folding stock"), and then extract the "gfx" and "sfx" folders within to your CS2D directory, and accept that you want to overwrite the files that already exist.

I think the holding image is too big, maybe you should keep it it same size as the default one.

Ah, thanks for pointing those out - I try to keep the realism on my skins as much as possible, but I'm no gun guy, so yeah.

I'll be fixing those problems shortly.

Pack is now fixed with all of the suggestions that were posted below:
+Lengthened barrel/muzzle
+Added "grip" "holes/gaps"
+Trigger, trigger guard and receiver added
+Renamed for AK model accuracy

Well for starters you misnamed the different AK types.

The top one is just a regular AK-47

The one below that it is also a normal AK-47 with after market "side" folding stock

The "extendable" stock variants below that is actually a AKS-47 with under folding stock.

Now on to the models them selves.

Over all their shape is pretty good and the detail and shading is also up to my standards.

My only issue is that the trigger and trigger guard is missing and the bolt on the receiver (on the side were the charging handle is) is missing IE it implies that this gun is mirrored and has the bolt on the wrong side.

Here are some pics to illustrate what I mean.

Great! It looks realistic but try to add more of thr tip of the muzzle cause it's a little short.

The handguard kinda curves downwards where it meets the gun's clip.
Y'know, bugger it - I'm going to go and have a look through the skin one more time - see if I can't edit it so that it resembles the AK47 a bit more.

*edit* Okay, the handguard holes have been included.

Can I see the reference image please? I'm still curious about the handguard shape.

Barrel is thick due to fat pixels
But yeah, this skin is based off (as is everything else) a reference image, so of course this isn't like the game's AK47, but rather a proper AK47 from real life.
Additionally, the handguard doesn't have those two holes in it, because there was no room to put transparent pixels into it without ruining the skin's proportions.

The barrel is too thick. And did you make the handguard look that way on purpose? As in not using the original shape? And I noticed the handguard does not have those two holes or whatever.

The _d however, is more or less perfect to me.
And it's not necessary to put the sounds in every folder >.>
