old [CSP] Tree Setup [v 1.0] -script-

NEVER care about the rotation, color and size of a tree on your map anymore!

With this script you can plunk down some random entities called 'tree1' or 'tree2' or whatever tree you want and on the start of a map it generates a tree on that entity!

----

The script is particularly useful for mapmakers that have to create huge forests on their maps and the like. You can just place for example a dynwall called 'tree1' and use ctrl+c and ctrl+v to paste your randomly generated forest on the map.

The best part is that you can use your own images and you can even change the way trees generate so that you can paste some oak trees here, then some birch trees there, and not care about position AT ALL!

----

Sorry I'm really excited over this script, enjoy!

Oh god please. You know if you use that method, you just paste more trees over the existing trees if a bug doesn't occur.

----

I've added it to the new version.

@user Alistaire: I edited it for try and it works every roundstart, but of course, on each all trees are random.

@user Apache uwu

Startround is only triggered once everyone spawned. I said, it will be possible in the next version of CS2D, because startround_prespawn doesn't exist yet.

I can't make it that's the problem.

I really like it. Pretty useful for forest maps.

@user Alistaire: He's saying that images are automatically removed on roundstart by cs2d. That is a problem because once the round restarts you won't see the trees. A fix is just to place building trees around a startround hook.

@user Alistaire: So it's good for adventures single player maps

Make new version, good luck

@user Avo

It's not possible to make it remove the images and replace them on a roundstart. It will be in the next version.

@user mafia_man

The point is that you can't place env_object trees which are lag-free with Lua.

All the damn trees wave all time and it takes too much CPU if you have a forest.

I aleready done something like this in BlitzMax, but it generates env_object for map. This one in lua is slow and many images causes, that some players can't join the server.
